Sabina's Story

Kyiv, Ukraine

Sabina Yunusova

Sabina was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and fled the country to Azerbaijan. Her family lived in Baku, Azerbaijan for several months and experienced great financial stress, making it difficult for her to prepare for university entrance exams. During her time in Baku, Sabina worked as a freelance translator to make ends meet.

That summer, Sabina took part in various Your Path Forward curriculums with other Ukranian interns, all while completing her college applications. After being accepted to various universities, Sabina made the decision to stay with her family in Ukraine for university. Now, she is enrolled in Shevchenko Kyiv National University.

With learnings from Your Path Forward business curriculums and her knowledge of languages, Sabina has spent her time in university receiving, interviewing, and communicating with ambassadors (one example being the Minister of Economy of Lithuania).
